KSKY - has a local music show Sundays at 9pm. This is a big deal. You need to help them make it into a popular show (attracting sponsors) by LISTENING, ASKING YOUR FRIENDS TO LISTEN, and GETTING THEM GOOD MATERIAL so people want to listen.

Panache Magazine - Rochelle and Suzy give lots of space to local music, and have been for 10 years.
Black Hills Arts Anchor - Kim wears herself out helping local events, organizing them, hosting them, and now publicizing them.

Let venues know you heard about their event in those papers. Buy ads to announce your CD release or a special performance. Seriously. Spend $35 and buy an ad. Read articles about people other than yourself. Volunteer to distribute or write or proof or help with anything at all. Trust me, THEY AREN'T DOING THIS FOR THE MONEY and they could use the help.

Rapid City Journal - Lynn Taylor Rick has made a huge difference in the coverage of local music in the Journal over the last couple of years. She's added the photo briefs, does stories to support events, and sends photographers out to take pictures of musicians playing. Help her by getting her your schedule, a good photo, and an interesting bio. Let her know well in advance about interesting and creative events. Say thanks from the stage.

Backroom Productions - Organizers will be attending SI concerts looking for people to book at this summer's Music in the Park series in Rapid City. If you have promotional material, bring it and hand it in along with your demo CDs and such and label it "FOR BACKROOM PRODUCTIONS." Attend. Plan group outings to listen. Join Backroom and help put interesting music events together.

Da•Coda Instrument Drive - Bring any instrument to any SI concert, and the Da•Coda committee will get it refurbished and make sure it gets to a kid from Girls Inc or Boys Club who can't afford one.
